Rboerts' Auction

Ed Roberts Jr. and his wife, Donna, opened Roberts’ Auction in May 2009 at the intersection of county Route 38 and state Route 28 in Arkville. If the Roberts’ Auction name sounds familiar, that’s because Ed’s parents, Ed Sr. and Sandy, operated a business by the same name in Fleischmanns for more than 40 years. That enterprise was well known for providing an outlet for selling and buying goods, plus its unique qualities as a social gathering place.

Ed Jr. and Donna had helped out at the auction for many years — with Ed getting his first taste of the business at age eight. When the physical toll of long years on contracting forced Ed to make a career change, it wasn’t long before a plan came together for a “new Roberts’ Auction.” Because his parents had sold the building where they held auctions, Ed reached an agreement to bring his enterprise to a section of the spacious Casey Joe’s Coffeehouse building in Arkville.

Since the opening, many old customers have returned and new patrons have been turning out for auctions each week.

Ed and Donna aim to bring the best of the old Roberts’ Auction traditions to their new space, while putting their own unique stamp on the business. They welcome folks to stop in and enjoy the action at a place “Where you can get something for nodding.”

The goods for sale at Roberts’ Auction change weekly. Antiques and collectibles are among the pieces frequently offered. There is really no limit to what can be found on the auction block. A typical auction can include items such as glassware, furniture, games, lawn and garden equipment, artwork, periodicals, rugs, appliances and just about everything else that someone could want to buy or sell. Roberts’ Auction primarily sells goods on consignment from individuals and businesses. The company also purchases entire estates that are put up for auction.
